Greetings, I have the original plans for the Pilot Hawker Hurricane that I built back in the mid 80's,  I'm working on getting a set of Wing rib templates drawn up for anybody on here that wants them, will post them as an addition in the plans gallery.  However until that is done, here is some information on the Airfoil design that was used:  The center wing ribs used a Clark Y airfoil with a 15% thickness and a 1.5% camber, this is used for Ribs 1, 2, and 16/17.  Wing ribs 3 to 9 are then interpolated from wing joint to the tip to set the taper.  Wing rib 9 is a Clark Y airfoil with 11.7% thickness and a 1.2% camber.  The wing is a flat even surface on top so the wing is built upside down to create the lower surface dihedral.  I also remember having to trace the right wing pattern on tracing vellum to make a full wing plan.

An additional concern though, looking at the plans, only half of the fuselage forms are shown drawn so you will have interpolate those templates as well to get the proper fuselage shape.  That will be second template work I will try to do.  The fuselage parts were plywood covered with balsa planks and stringers.

regards Ken

I would be interested in the pilot kit plan for the Rickey Rat, nice little 1/2 A racer, perfect match for the Little Toni...

Hi KSchard and thanks for the work on the Hurricane.  My second all time favourite airplane (Spitfire first....yeah I know....boring right! LOL)!  There are surprisingly few well done, or even close to accurate plans out there for this bird and I want to thank you for the work, time and effort your putting into getting them on the forum.

The only time you want Guillow's balsa, is when its worth its weight in gold!

I´m Looking for the Pilot F-16A .25, Anybody got a set of drawing of it?Huh...

It got a tractor prop on the nose a little bit different from their ARF cousin the EZ F-16 (pusher prop).

Best Regards

Hi

I've asked many times over the last few years if someone could upload the Wing Rib templates from the Pilot Spitfire.  At least one person said he had the kit and would produce the templates but alas there are still none and the Spitfire would have to be the hardest to duplicate without the templates because of the complexity of the wing.

Why Pilot usually supply Wing templates for most aircraft but not the warbirds, I don't know.  But once again I plead for someone who has this Spitfire kit to create Wing Rib templates for this fine model.

Andi

I have the plan sheets for the 50" span Pilot C/E
Which bits do you want?
There are no rib templates on it, but a centre section top rib and bottom wing root rib on cross sections, also at the inter wing strut positions.
Seems the top wing is symetrical and the bottom semi-symetrical.

Ah - I do not have them, or the parts separate, only what is drawn on the plans.
Sorry

Does any one have the Pilot Nieuport 28 manual? Picked up nib kit but manual was lost. Been building for over 50 years and can do without it, but would be nice to have. Thanks

I don´t remeber if the instructions are included with the plans, but the Ni-28 are a really hard to find kit, you are a lucky guy.
