I saw that someone else was building a peanut Pilatus Porter, which seemed like a good model for a first peanut scratch build. I found the plan online and built one to the plan, except all of the wood is 6 pound 1/16 balsa and 10 pound for the leading edges. I had trouble with cutting the strips of red tissue for the fuselage, but other than that it went together easily. I plan on building more peanuts, and hopefully this one will fly.

I did a few short trim flights and it was very nose heavy. I changed the plastic propeller for a balsa one and will see how it flies with that.

Looks good.
I hope to see it flying soon.

I added a "Z latch" in a 1/16" aluminum tube so that the propeller can freewheel. The design of the freewheeler is from Don Ross's book. I have not tested the new propeller yet but hopefully it will be better than the plastic one.
