Off to the airport shortly but good news, Suns out , light breeze, up to the school oval early.
All went well but I've noticed a few things.
Engine started in reverse a couple of times which I'd not had before.
First flight only had a small amount of fuel about a 10 sec run. level flight & nice landing - Success! ( insert happy face here )
Second flight used a full tank nearly , trim was good , just a couple of notches of down trim. Trundles around in a stately slow manner, the diesel chugging away. I think I've not got it quite as tuned up as it could be yet, but its adequate. Nice glide down from height and soft landing and roll out.
Final flight saw the engine quit a fair way upwind , quickly turned and came back downwind , did a steep 180 turn in front of me and dropped it in.
All in all , pretty happy. I have big throws on the rudder and elevator but I'm not heavy handed so the radio is on full rate still and its very controllable .
CG is just a mm or 2 behind the main spar and the glide was nice for landing.
Spring I made for the compression screw is not quite tight enough , the screw would back off slightly from the best position, can fix when I get back home in a month.
All in all very satisfying , looking forward to some still warm nights in October.
My photographer kids all asleep when I left so pictures next time.
