I am thinking of putting a WenMac on a Smarty for next years Nats. I am quite ignorant of power flying, so forgive what may be a stupid question. Where do you find the correct glow plugs for these things?

Short plugs is what you need, or put 2 or is it 3 washers under a long plug.
Probably the hotter the better unless you using 50% nitro fuel, that BTW does make em really go.

What you want is a K&B 1S.
Good luck finding it.

I'm sure Dan knows better than I, as I've never ordered anything from MECOA, but I thought I would throw this in anyway.  Maybe they have some available.  It won't hurt to ask.

I've not purchased from MECOA. I know guys who have done so.
Bill Schmidt says the KB is what we want. He is the guru of WenMacs.
I will say that Bill has a HotHead with a WenMac that flies as good as ANY 1/2A Nos plane that I've ever seen.

The WenMacs will run plenty fast. What they won't do is last too long. They just wear out.

I was trying to find out about the history of Wen-Mac and came across this neat little article from 1964.  http://www.modelenginenews.org/people/wenmac.html
