So today I'm going through my emails and I get this notice stating that Tower Hobbies
went belly up ( parent company ). Its been acquired by Horizon hobby. Pity too as I just placed
my last wood order just yesterday. Those into RC may find this a shocker or not but I've
always had very good relations with the fine people of Tower Hobbies.  Anyway, thought
I'd pass this along. Good thing I have 4 other balsa suppliers for back up.

Looks like Horizon Hobbies got Hobbico not just Tower Hobbies. I wonder how much debt they took on. I'd hate to see this be the trigger for HH getting into more financial trouble.

I will say that things did change for the better when they (Hobbico) became an ESOP around 2005. From a customer service point of view, Great Planes/Hobbico was horrible prior to the employees owning it.

Cut it twice and it's still too short!

Hey guys,
Did a follow up and talked to the folks at Tower Hobbies.  They will still be
doing business but just under new ownership. Thought I'd pass that along.
