Here is an Embryo I designed that I never expected to be successful.

Read about it here (you can download the plan, too!):  http://volareproducts.com/?p=3239

Bravo George - Very innovative thinking!

Thanks for posting the story, plan and video.

I have struggled with my ultra-light "Tear Drop" indoor Embryo with a box fuselage that has an airfoil cross-section.  The longerons keep breaking because the wood is too light.

Maybe I will build my own Sky-Box.

George,

Glad to see it flying at the Nats Smiley Do you have any concern of a grumpy CD saying the rubber is not "enclosed" in the "fuselage" ?

I like the black color and layout, it reminds me of Halloween for some reason.

Hi Don,

I'm not concerned - I am pretty sure the only mention of enclosed rubber in the FAC Rules is in the Old Time Stick and Fuselage section.

Maybe if I build one half as heavy, I can catch that Ghost Rider!

The flight video made me think of the human-powered Daedelus(!).

Neato!

Looks great Randy!  Let us know how it flies.  Indoor season is almost here in Michigan - I will be digging out my Sky Box soon!

P.S.  I did send the plan to Don DeLoach back in June for inclusion in the NFFS Digest.  I haven't seen it, but maybe I missed it.
