Hi Guys:
I’m building a Miss Worlds Fair, o/T rubber free flight model.
I have a nice Balsa prop, 16.5” diameter that I am looking to
Re enforce.  So far I have a 1/32” full depth spar going about 1/3 the
Span diameter.  On top of that I applied some carbon fiber ribbon about
1/16” wide over top and bottom of the spar.  I applied the C/F with duco cement.
My issue is: what can I apply over the bare wood and Carbon / fiber applied with
Duco. What about Polyspan applied with dope or Polyspan applied with 2 part epoxy
Resin.  Or very light fiberglass cloth, like 1/4 oz / sq. Yard with minimal epoxy resin.
Should I put C/A over the Carbon fiber strips before applying the epoxy / fiber glass cloth?
And could you recommend a name brand of epoxy system, like “Wests” Sytems but what number?
I need minimal weight and maximum strength.
Thanks in Advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Jon B. Shereshaw
