Title: New Payload effort
Post by: danberry on June 23, 2013, 10:29:27 PM
This is the Payload entry for the Nats. It's cobbled up from existing rib templates (1/2A Marval).
It is yet to be named, although PayMewithabeer is intriguing.
It hasn't flown yet.

I've always been fascinated by two Freeflight events: Payload and Cargo. I've flown the Payload event several times, many years ago, but I've never flown cargo. Do they still fly cargo? I know for quite a while, there were only a hand-full of guys who flew cargo, and the same guy would win it every year.

I used to fly a Competition Models "Eaglet" in payload. It flew pretty well in that event.

Cargo is flown at the Nats.

Kind of curious: I know that cargo (at least used to) require an ROG. And due to the high wing loading, some of the take off rolls were pretty long. What do they use for a runway at Muncie?

Paved runway. Right in the middle of the site.
