Title: Problems keeping line ends under reel clips
Post by: sleepy gomez on December 24, 2015, 02:40:29 PM
I have had problems keeping the loose ends of control lines on the reel with the reel clip.
I have solved the problem for me.
Cut a 2 1/2" long piece of 3/8" wood dowel.
Lay the reel clip on its side.
No need to cut the dowel.
Drive one end of the dowel on the center part of the clip.
Apply a spot of epoxy to seal the end.
Install the line clip as usual then push the other end of the dowel into the reel.
It is also easier for old fingers to remove the clip.

Cheep and cheerful Sleepy, raid 'er indoors sewing box for a length of 3/8" elastic, tie into a loop and slip over the clip and the reel.

Cheers

My solution is even cheaper and doesn't risk annoying the little lady.

Get a bit of 3/8" sq from the scrap box and use that as a wedge under the clip. If its too loose go to 3/8 X 1/2.
