Title: This season: Hodson Wart
Post by: Crossup on November 24, 2017, 06:25:15 PM
After seeing Ross Clements Wart I knew I had to build one and so I made it my first build of the indoor season. Came out 10% over weight 1.31g which I'm happy with as I have no really nice wood, best piece was some 4.8lb C grain for the prop. the rest was mostly near 6lb with 7.5 for the motor stick. A quick test flight in the living room revealed a flight speed far slower than my expectation, too bad my first chance to fly it is right now but 30 miles away...can't wait for next week(and I still have to make/find a box for it)

I don't think I ever saw a Mylar covered Wart before. It looks really nice.

Thanks, but kinda like the saying about lucky race car drivers, I'd rather have the skills you and Gary Hodson have than a nice looking plane :D
I'm sure it will be fun trying to get a fraction of its potential out of it.

My WART is on its second season and I'm really impressed with how much better it flys than my old school A6. It's easy to get 5-6 minutes in a 45' venue and after flying in a 95' facility, its not hard to see it topping out at Lakehurst.  I'm hoping to make it up there this year, hopefully with my first F1L.
