Title: Attachments in posts
Post by: Ratz on February 01, 2008, 02:01:26 PM
It has become apparent that HOT-linking (using IMG code) to images located on other web sites doesn't always work correctly. Do so at your own risk. If it doesn't work, oh well. Adding a Page "link" to another web site is fine.

Sharing images of our art/work is a big part of making this community a wonderful thing so please take the time to prepare your images for posting and attach them to your posts using the "Attach:" function found in the "Additional Options" link below the editing box.

The NEW settings for attachments are:
- A total of 6 attachments per post.
- A single attachment is now limited to 400k
- Total size allowed is 2400kb per post (6 attachments at 400k, or less, each)
- File formats are gif, jpg, jpeg & png
- All images now open as a slide that overlays the page when one clicks on a thumbnail.

Recommended image size for upload is 1024 x 768 OR 768 x 1024 saved as JPG with a quality setting of Medium. Higher resolutions (larger dimensions such as 1280 x 960) are possible if you reduce the quality a bit more.

Picture Resizing Online Utility

We have our own little picture resizing utility available for your use if you haven't got the software needed to re-purpose your pictures for attaching to posts.
Go here... Hip Pocket Picture Resizer (http://www.hippocketaeronautics.com/pic-resizer/)
Using this utility is simple and the results are very good.

Thanks,
