Leeper
I hope I finally attached the plans for the
not so famous Bulldog HLG . I've always kind of
liked it. Only 20 in. span but a good bit of area.
For your viewing entertainment.

Yes Charlie, it does look like a nice chucky.
I am guessing it might have been designed & published before the fifty's?
And who is the designer?

The airfoil looks like the original Vartanian.
You mean this model pre-dates Leeper?

Tmat

Contrary to YOUR belief, you young pup, there are things that pre-date me!  Tongue
Like the Big Bang & Genesis!  Roll Eyes

[Hmmm, several features do look quite Chicago Aeronut-ish, ala Hervath, Summers, etal, don't they...]

Leeper & Tmat
I think it was in an issue of Model Builder some time
in the 70's I'll try to find the magazine if I can.
It reminds me of a Hervat with under camber and
polyhedral. About the same size. Even though I'm
probably as old as Leeper I'm sure I didn't build one
in the 50's. More info to follow if I can find it in
my stash.

The 'Bulldog HLG' was published in the Sept., 1980 issue of 'Model Builder'. Designer is William Langenberg.
Article says finished weight should be about 1.2 OZ.
Anyone want/need the article?

Dave
Thanks for the fill in on the Bulldog. That may save me
a long look through a lot of magazines and shows that
it's not as old as dirt or Leeper or I.

Yes, Thanks allround Dave.
I knew Bill Langenberg as a fine man & flyer. I think I saw him fly HLG at times, too. Quiet, intense competitor.
Bulldog certainly has that retro 30's, 40's AeroNuts HLG 'look', plus the pre-Brian Eggleston LDA airfoil series shape!

I should not have used past tense speaking of Bill, as he hopefully is still with us on our Third Rock. Huh

Ciao,
