I look forward to receiving my laminated certificate, no doubt in the post already. I’d feel a lot prouder if I hadn’t needed 3 guesses, a couple of flicks through the Aeromodeller plans handbook and a confirmatory visit to Outerzone. I think maybe you need to rewrite the rules of these competitive quizzes.

(After you’ve consulted all the participants, obviously!  Cheesy)

I enjoy Bill’s guessing quizzes, so thought I’d start another. Can’t compete with his workmanship of course but in my defence this was built nearly 40 years ago when I was still at school. Hence the dodgily painted not-very-roundel. Admittedly it’s pushing it a bit for this “newest creations” thread, but anyway, here ‘tis... (all that’s left of it)...

Correct! Well, unlike the wing, that didn’t last long. Model had a Telco in it but never flew. I lied when I said that’s all that’s left of it though; here are its wheels- slightly mouse nibbled after decades in my dad’s loft.

Anyway, well done Russ. Looks like it’s your turn to start...

I've been checking out the siskin for a while now ... but the one with the big square upper wing. I guess my timing was good with the research!
My Wichita A2 was visited by a mouse sometime in the last 40 odd years too.
If I'm putting a build up it will have to be a close-up ...most of mine are quite familiar.

A PE Norman Gamecock. It is unfortunate that the camera angle obscures the exquisitely-detailed engine

Never mind the engine, just look at those beautifully applied checks and roundels! Lovely.
(Hmm I wonder if it's too late to delete my Siskin photo which has no business being seen on the same page.)

Quick fire round .... fingers on buzzers.

This has been in one of my drawers since about 2003 .... it didn't crumple to ash in the sunlight, so all is good.

Yes indeed  Smiley

A Bill Dennis design. I was looking at an event for my first 'proper go' at scale in that year as I remember... yup, I do deserve that reputation I hope to shake! I remember Cottesmore as the venue .. would that be right, or would it have been Luffenham?

I remember that one. I was new to rubber scale and it was a rotten rubber model. Then Derek gave me a prototype KP01 and I tested it, and nearly lost it, in the dusk in Devon. Next day we went to OW scale day and it produced one of those flights you never forget - a full circuit of the field at altitude, out over the road and back and a landing at my feet.
I don't recall flying at Cottesmore - may have been Luffenham.

Wrapped up adding gingerbread to the Broussard.  40+ miscellaneous antenna, mass balances, screens, steps, handholds and whatnot added .7g.  Went out to fly it again today but the breeze was higher than forecast and straight across the short dimension of the field - had to content myself with a couple of happy snaps.

If you hadn't staged the model with the paper and on a desktop, I'd have thought it the real thing.  Well done!
