Just finished my new version of Saturno, now I hope it is the last version: Saturno V5.

Fuselage is a homebuilt, 14mm dia, fiberglass tube using two layers of 1.4oz glass. I did build a carbon/glass fuselage but glass is 1g lighter, much cheaper and easier to work with.

Wing spar is a 4mm carbon tube as in F1B stabs and construction is straight forward with balsa ribs and carbon capstrips. Wing cover is Oracover milar in center and 10um silver mylar for the tips. Wing can be disassembled in two parts for transport.

Tails are all balsa using a 1mm rod carbon trailing edge covered with 5um mylar. Timer is a viscous damper from an old recorder. Total weight is 43g empty (I know… it can be done better).

I hope it will outperform V3 by a little but considering the amount of work and material involved I really do not expect much popularity… Anyway, if anybody want the plan or the laser cut files just send me a message.

Hope you like!

Alexandre,  Your model is very nice.  I think it will be very visible in the air.  I like the way you did the wings.  Looks like how my F1G and F1B wings join.  Caley
