Same here! I submitted some notes to point out that the main finish on the SE was NOT sprayed, the wing mounted Lewis gun shown on the plan was omitted because the specific prototype modelled did not have it fitted, etc. Every little helps!

Dan, my list was the things that needed downmarking, not explanations for changes. I pleaded guilty to moving the peg and asked for six other offences to be taken into consideration.

Ok Bill, I just thought it was wise to point out everything that could be marked down if the judges weren't aware of it. Whether deviations or things that weren't immediately apparent. I lost marks for not fitting leg fairings to last year's Jodel, despite my proof of colour pic showing that they weren't fitted to the full size either...

We live and learn!

I don't think there's any cause for feeling guilty because as things stand, isn't the onus is on the judges to see if the model matches the plan? But if the onus was on us and we were all compelled to confess our crimes (as Bill did voluntarily) it would save the judges time and also take out the element of luck (ie whether our little alterations get noticed or not.). Then again, perhaps the luck element is all part of the fun!

A week has passed and I think it is about time I post some pictures... (They are being posted in SFA as well)

It was a great event with plenty of flying on a (somewhat) tight schedule.

It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. If I had been better prepared and made some better flying, it would be even better. A third place in CO2 is not bad, but failing to make a complete proper flight during the competition does not leave you with a feeling of acomplishment...

Anyway, to the pictures...

Chris Blance, Grumman Helcat, first place in open rubber

Andre Petit, Southern Martlet, second place in open rubber

Andre winding the Martlet

Peter Smart, Vo 88A4, third place in open rubber

George

Many thanks for posting the photos, an excellent spread and most interesting. One of these days I'll have to go along to watch, but as always so much to do and so little time..

Love the P-6E. I need to learn to make detailed marking, like the indian head. All of these are inspiration for me to try to do better.

All the best,

Excellent photos, George. Thank you! (shame about my miserable face- I was having fun really)
I really like the detail shots of Derek Knight's moth and also the pilots in Robert's Saro Cloud, which I hadn't even noticed.
Thanks for the Youtube uploads too Robert- very nice to watch.  Grin
