OK, so this starts as an open invitation to spoil my day!
So far I can find some good photos of this subject, but no scale drawings or any models based on this aircraft.
Unless someone can upset me by showing scale drawings or models, I am going to make this my first attempt at preparing scale drawings from photos!

Even if someone does 'spoil' it for me .... I am very interested in this as a subject for scale.

.... and I thought I had half decent searching skills!

Thanks though Jon .... they are nice enough drawings to get me fired up anyway  Smiley
Where did you find them?

Now just pick a number between one and ten for how many years it will take to become a reality ....

Round engine nicety and a very interesting fin/rudder.  It looks to have a lot of "Moth" (DH-60) influence.

Russ,
You may want to find the book Redwing Story by John Lane,  ISBN 0 9519808 07.

Hi FFmodeller, here's a poor photo from a book - I can make a better copy when there's more light if you want. Pictures and close-ups (but no 3-view that I could see) starting from  http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1930/untitled0%20-%201535.html?search=robinson+redwing
I remember an Aeroplane Monthly with G-ABNX on the cover, I can dig that out to see if there was an article in that issue (it may just have been a cover shot). I used to work for the geezer who owned G-ABNX, but he'd got rid of it before I knew him, too bad. . .

Regards, Stephen.

Many thanks for the help .... the scale drawing that Jon has forwarded to me is for the Redwing II so I am now fairly well equipped for the particular aircraft I have in mind.  Smiley

Nice subject, Russ! The only model I recall seeing was a peanut version in "Scale Matters" in a '77 or '78 Aeromodeller. I can't understand why it's been so overlooked as it seems to have everything going for it...

Cheers,

Dan.

Yeah ... that's what struck me when I saw it in an old book Dan. I think those years are my 'cycling' years so I probably don't have those magazines.
Unusual to find good photos first .... usually the other way around with rare subjects (only 12 built as I am aware?)

I've sent you a pm but not had a reply.  Perhaps you are not interested in this magazine article?

Hi Bryan ... sorry, not had a PM.
I seem to get email notifications of messages sometimes and then no message ... I thought it was people deleting them previously, but now I know there must be a problem somewhere.

Thanks in anticipation anyway Bryan  Smiley

Thinking about the wing section at the minute .... can you think of one suitable to be fairly true to the aircraft .... Jon .... or anyone?

I get lazier!  Roll Eyes

Can't be sure Russ but most likely the scale section would be RAF 15 as were the dH Moths, Avro bipes and Sopwiths. Just eyeballing the centre section on the pics I sent would appear to confirm this too.

RAF 15 is a pretty good at model sizes unlike many scale airfoils.

Have you decide on what scale/span yet?

Thanks Jon .... you're probably still slightly ahead in design input into this project!
