My Pretty Penny suffered after the lat Nats and ended up retiring.
I built a curvy LPP that didn't work very well and now I've done another, based on an old Tom Sova design.
I chose it because it's a really basic, straight forward design, that even I could put together.

I got the plan from INAV and it was missing a few dimensions of parts here and there, so I looked up Tom on Facebook and asked him a few questions.
He responded straight away and gave me enough info to get going.

Any how here it is.

Whereabouts in the UK are you, Skymon? And how far would you be prepared to travel?

Interesting, because I'm shortly going to start a new PP, and I'm always interested in what's happening with these things.

I'm down in Portsmouth.
I normally fly once a month in Wickham and I've been to Windsor TVAC a few times.
I tend to do more in the winter as the summer weekend are busy.
Hoping to attend the August TVAC session

You can't go wrong with Tom Sova as an advisor. He has always been one of the best at LPP.

Skymon, I'm in the Midlands, where there's quite a lot of indoor activity during the winter months, but maybe a bit too far for you to travel. Take a look at Sam 1066 Clarion online magazine here: http://www.sam1066.org/nc0719.pdf. They list up-coming indoor events, including two regular ones over the winter in Hampshire.

Soon as this oppressive humidity ends I'll be able to concentrate on cutting some wood!

I weighed up the pane last night.
I built without any real concern about mass, I just wanted to get s solid, robust plane that I can work with.
It came in at 3.350g, so about 10% over weight.
It is very solid.
The motorstick alone weighs 900mg.

This is going to be a nice test bed for me to learn about Penny planes and the funny props they use Smiley

Looks like my first opportunity to fly will be at the UK Nats.
