I spy another YHWM!

12g seems a pretty good weight to me.  The peanuts I've built come in at about 18g with rubber so given the extra span / area I'd hope you'd get good flight times.

Very nice. I really like the yellow, and the subtle but effective trim.

That looks really good. The black trim suits very well. Enjoy the flying!

Since building ‘Elf and Safety’ I’m in no position to groan at other people’s elf jokes!
My only regret is that I built mine to a slightly undersized plan. Seeing yours makes me want to build another at full size. Still time before Peterborough.

Super 'little ' Elf love the subtle decoration... I'm sure there's room for another sticker ?

There's still time but you could always hold it closer to the judges I'm sure they won't notice

The stickers were fun, but don’t exactly help it’s AUW which is 14g without rubber. However, I don’t think its being a tad undersized matters for the judges, as a 1/4 inch less wingspan is surely a disadvantage not an advantage.
The most annoying thing was that I had to cut the prop down a bit to get ROGs indoors.

Well, I had to do something with all that strip left over from the Prefect kit...

Please don't mention yellow tissue ... I have virtually run out of yellow Esaki and am yet to find suitable therapy  Wink Grin

(though I did find a couple of packs of other colours the other day)

Look forward to the Elf!  Smiley

You won't be disappointed Lurk - a very good way to use some left over strip wood! Yes definitely needs to be yellow!

Mine is the same weight or very close Pete - it seems to do ok although still not fully sorted out.

Happy Elfing.

A scheme for Tolkein obsessives.  Yes, it's a Grey Elf.

As pictured 13g.  Rush job for tomorrow so the glazing will be fitted later and, just to please Pete F., it's using bits (those horrid, horrid wheels) from the Peck Lacey M-10 kit.  Well, I did say it was a rush job.  If I can get it flying they'll be replaced with balsa wheels in slow time.

Very nice! And I really like its classy, minimalist scheme. The wheels look fine to me too. (In fact they’re probably the best looking part in a Lacey kit by some measure).

Very clean covering job Lurk. It just needs a long peaked hat to fully Gandalf it!

In the unlikely event that anyone needs yet another copy of the Elf plan, as a result of my go at one I've tweaked my copy of the plan and and resubmitted it to the gallery.  Should be available some time soon.  Main changes are some minor fettling the LE cut-outs for a couple of the rib profiles and adding some, I hope, helpful notes to the main sheet.

As it's Berensfield  on Sunday, I raided my scrap box this week and stuck together a very scruffy version - it may not have the sophistication of Lurk's or the workmanship of Squirrelnet's, but at 14g ready to fly, I think it may circle the hall.
I've kept away from all the "elf and.." jokes, and gone down the motorsport route - so here's my ELF Tyrrell !

Nice twist.  I'd forgotten all about them!  How did you do the markings?  Printed tissue?

When I read this before seeing the photo I was picturing an Elf with 6 wheels! Look forward to seeing it speed around the hall!  Smiley

yes - preshrunk tissue inkjet printed then a 30% dope finish. - a bit faint, but it works!

Next version could be an "elf-Renault" (with a Fw-14b ... maybe Red 5 ...)

Cheesy
