Sure would appreciate seeing how the pro's do this. I have not seen another flier do this in a very long time. If someone has done this already just tell me where to look. Thanks in advance for any video on this subject. If no video then just talk me thru it.

The single best explanation I've ever seen or heard was:

Throw the airplane like an outfielder throwing the ball from deep out field to home.

Worked for me, anyway...

Thanks for the tip. I was a catcher so I will throw the glider like I was aiming to throw out a guy running from first base attempting to steal second base.

Ha! I think you might be better off with a little more altitude! 2 feet off the ground 98 feet away is not very high....

(BTW - the "Pitch Out" is my favorite play in baseball.)

My favorite memory was when an opposing player attempted to come home and he ran me over before making it to the plate. He was tagged out and then tried to dislodge the ball when he ran me over. He was still out since I held onto the baseball.

I recommend youtube for HLG videos.
You will find javelin & tip launch variations.
Have you done searches on Hippockets under this subject heading?  Also under Tip Launch Glider subject?
I have seen some fine video examples.

This channel has a mountain of footage: https://www.youtube.com/user/FREEFLIGHT0304

I'd also add that I really recommend against javelin throwing. There is plenty out there to keep you supplied for discus launch models, and you could go so far as building all composite models if you're willing to do a modicum of learning of new techniques. Discus launch is good exercise, and with bigger more forgiving models. Javelin launch just tears up shoulders.
