What is a good weight for a Mini Pearl, TD .049, 7 second engine run?

It'll do better at 6oz than 7oz. It's a small plane.

Gee, the Mini-Pearl is 216 sq. in. At 6 ounces that must mean all 6 lb. wood.

I built one for the first time in about 1980, and with a TD .049, and a pen bladder tank it weighed just over 5 oz. Climbed very fast!

Also flew Mini-Pearls in the 70s/80s.  As Tony said, climbs were very fast -  but glide suffered a  little from the low aspect ratio.
