Nice model Scott.

Here's a pic I just took of Mel launching his Raider.

Don't have either plans.  Can you date either model as when they were designed by Mel?

Is Mel still with us do you know?

What's the covering, Scott?

Robin, the deep yellow or gold is Oracover, the roll of covering is probably 8-9 years old, white is Hangar 9 light covering. Old age has gotten me and I can't remember the name of it at the moment!#$#%^& The Oracover is fairly heavy, I wish I hadn't used it on this small of an airplane!!

Gossie,
Since no one has answered your question, I thought I'd chime in:
The Raider 340 was published in MAN 11/69.
The Shocer 540 was published in MB 1/72.
My dad and I met Mel Schmidt at the 1972 Glenview Nats, great guy but I have no idea as to whether he is still with us these days.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Robert,
Not that it mattered, was just interested.
Thanks again.
