In case you have not seen this, I posted this short article yesterday and already 500 views. I am reading the book Do you Speak Model Aviation again and then The Fascination of Flight about Hank Cole. Currently I am building Flying Aces Moth and New Gollywock. Also a Streak glow model powered by a K&B .049.

I just picked up a 1928 book in Florida from the Boy Scouts called "The Boy's Story of C. Lindbergh" and it's really nice because it has a plan and instructions on how to build a 36" span flying model...all hardwood. I'm also building a Old Gollywock with bamboo tips from 1940 and it's coming along nicely.
