I've been messing about with a sport indoor model for indoor electric free flight using a Peterborough timer.

Wing span is 280mm (about 11") so you can print it on A4. The whole thing is 2mm depron with decoration provided by cheap waterproof marker pens. The canopy will be vac moulded.

The components are a 6mm X-Twin motor, FET timer and 1S 50mAh full river cell.

I'd be interested to see what other small foam models are out there?

Hi Jon. Your model looks pretty neat. Sorry, I have no model to show you but Ive had this idea of dismantling one of kids Hexbugs and using the small motor and button cell batttery to drive a small prop. Im sure there loads of proven power combinations out there that will work better but thought the inexpensive Hexbug would make an interesting test. Electronics are not my thing so not quite sure how I will fasion a timer.

For inspiration, check out what some of the other British ff people are doing with foam:

If you look at contest reports at ffscale.co.uk, you'll find more. I think they often use Highload 60 foam, which sands, and especially wet sands, very nicely. It's available in the US as well, or you can use Plazamate. A lifetime supply for $30 or so. (2 feet X 8 feet X 2 inches or so)
