Really nice videos Jon. Just worked my way through them all.

Some lovely models and some  lovely flights. Mike Stuarts new Robinson Redwing caught my eye, another slow flyer and the white Rumpler C1 looked a picture ... showing my soft spot for a nice biplane here. I don't suppose you happen to know if the Rumpler was an OD or from the Mike Midkiff plan/kit.. it looks a bit smaller than the Midkiff 30" span in the videos

The Rumpler is probably that of Lars Tolkstam and an OD. Yes it's a bit smaller than the Midkiff, but that would be a very good KS choice

Ditto to Chris's post .... some super looking flyers, The Redwing and Rumpler were my particular favourites.

Bill,
It made me run over to YouTube to find a video of your Rumpler .... 2008 was the first I found! Where has the last ten years gone. I still think of that as a 'recent' model.

Yes, thanks Bernard, and many congrats to all the placers especially. Pleased to see John Bowerman giving Jon’s Camel a close run and getting second in KS with a Fairchild 24. The ever reliable Guillow version I assume?

Are the results in the public domain anywhere, or is it a secret?

I think they were sent to those who have attended. I'm sure they'll be on here soon, but I've emailed them to you

Thanks Bill,

Congrats to Jon, and Richard and all of the Brits that placed.

I hope to make it over there one year (when life and work allow!)

Bill, I can’t find them myself - any chance you can email them to me too?

Thanks Bill - got them now.

I take my hat off to John Bowerman - our KS static scores were dead equal (four entrants were joint second) and the  rubber-powered flights of his Fairchild were excellent, and just a gnat’s whisker behind the Camel: 191 to 193.

I’m on the fiddly unfamiliar iPad at the mo, rather than my usual computer, but I’ll see if I can post the results here in a clear format...?

..... and well done, Jon!  Smiley
The numbers do look down .... but still a good entry.
I do not think I will ever get there, but I hope that numbers are back to record heights soon.

Well done Richard for BEST IN SHOW with the Consolidated flying boat!

And a huge thanks again to Bernard and compatriots for an excellent event and superb organisation.

You might have retired for the time being, but to paraphrase Arnie “You will be back!”  Grin

I took a few photos during the event, so I thought I should upload some of them. I'll start with some peanuts, the most popular category. First out is Tonda's magnificent Spitfire, best flight and overall winner in peanut.

And here is Roel's Rogozarski Brucos. It's actually a pistachio, but Roel entered it in peanut so that there would be three Dutch peanuts for a valid Dutch championship. It's really tiny, built out of foam plastic of course.

Another Dutch entry was this Fokker FII by Wout Moerman. Though it's a very nice and realistic model, being a low bonus prototype it got low static scores.
