It was asked of me that with modern transmitters where one can assign the channel outputs, does one need to keep the throttle channel at the default throttle receiver pin location when using speed controllers (ESC) with battery eliminator circuits (BEC)? The answer is no.

You can use any channel position (servo pins) on the (receiver) to connect the receiver battery or BEC (ESC). This is because most receivers use a common bus bar architecture. That is all the positive servo pins are connected to each other on the same copper trace. And all the negative servo pins are connected to each other on their own copper trace. (Please note this is for the servo pin block connectors. This might not be true to power the remote RX, X port or S bus connector)  Some high power servo receivers will use a power distribution board but that is beyond the scope of the question.

I hope you can see these bus bars in the attached photo (this is a Spektrum receiver).
