Built a new 1/2 A for the 2018 !! Attached are pics. of the 1/2 A New hope. Pwr. is an VA MkII that tacked right at 28K rpm. Ready to fly weight came in at just over 8 ozs.!!! Waiting on the winds to die down for test flights.

Scott,

Was this based on the 1/2A Geodetic Galaxy?  Just discovered I had one in my kit inventory.

Funny things you discover when you clean out the shop.

Also two 1/2A Campbell Mavericks and a Mini Pearl short kit.

Yes, the wing and stab are modified 1/2A galaxie! Dan, current prop is an APC 5.5 x 2. Have APC 5 x 3 and green 4.75 x 3 comp. prop also for trial.

See if the green one is actually 5 diameter. That's what I use. It is 5 x 2.75.

Had a chance last week at Palm Bay to do some trimming work on the 1/2A New Hope. VA MK II pwr'd it very good. Got the pwr. pattern where I wanted it but had some issues with the glide. Stalling was the issue even though I'd already added a 1/4" ply spacer to move the engine further forward. May take it home and put a heavier .049 Fora on the nose and see what happens than. Dan, trimming was done and 5.5 x 2 prop.
