The Binomial is a sport, rubber-powered, laser-cut, indoor biplane from Laser-Cut Planes. Span is 15.5 in and weight without motor is said to be 6-7 grams. Mine was 6.98 g and I knew that I had used too much glue. Power was 3/32-in rubber, prop was 8.75-in Ikara. A few flights gave times of about 1.5 min.

Then the prop was replaced with a 2.7V, 10 F capacitor, and a 7-mm, probably 2-3-ohm Didel motor with Triturbo prop were mounted on a bar between the wings in a pusher configuration. Times are again about a minute and a half in limited testing. The cap configuration is heavier and flies faster.

Covering is HDPE very thin and cheap produce bag film.

All-up weight with rubber was 8.10 g and with capacitor was 12.50 g. Nothing has been (or probably will be) optimized but the cap system is heavier now.

This capacitor was charged for 15 sec, and then the Binomial indoor model was released at a local park OUTDOORS. Weather was sunny, mostly clear, and 90 deg F. The model climbed in a left circle and was high but still visible at 6:30. Perhaps it was still visible at 7:02, but definitely was not visible to me at 8:52.

Nevertheless, a good plane and a great flight.
