Maxwell would probably take components other than the motor alone into consideration when determining total heat output since the motor is part of a system, even if you stop at the motor output shaft. I'm just guessing. He may want to know how much is being dumped into the esc, that thing with the big heat sink. Smiley Or maybe he's the kind of guy who walks into a car dealership looking for an efficient commuter and then pounds the salesman about the thermal efficiency of the IC engine, ignoring mileage altogether.
