Cheers, Russ. See you there, Paul, I'll bring some kits for you to browse... I'm impressed someone can spell damnit properly, even if the spell checker prefers dammit Dan Grin  Shame about the Bowers, hopefully next time. I might even have finished my last-year's project by then; scale, WW-I, emerald green and yellow/black diamonds. Anyone beat Russ to the identity?

Go to the top of the class, Peter. Curious that the kit manufacturer has chosen camouflage for the wing top. The pictures of the real one I found show, literally, emerald(?) green. Anyway, attaching one piece of tissue per week is considered strong progress so it may yet be a while and will not be anything spectacular when completed. I did tidy up before the photograph...

Full size photo credits to whomever, they are not mine.

Keep in mind that this is not an original plane but only a replica. Maybe painting of the replica is simplified?

So the kit might represent the original colour scheme but the replica full-size chose a somewhat modified scheme? Interesting. Thanks, I appreciate the info.

Bump for this Saturday 11th Jan, 2020 already. All the usual details, turn up and prepare to have fun. Unless you're attending the BMFA council meeting, in which case, kudos and we'll be sure to tell you what you missed  Grin

Bump for this Saturday 8th Feb. Hope to see you there, all very welcome, visitors and spectators equally so.

Bump for this Saturday 29th Feb. Hope to see you there, all very welcome, visitors, spectators and wag's equally so. Yes, I cut and pasted this text, in tribute to Larry Tesler.

Here's a pic of progress on the COMET Fokker D.VIII. Weight so far is 'unflyable'. I will check the ballistics before finishing the cowl because I (optimistically) left some solder ballast where I can pull it out, or more likely add to it, while the bottom corners aren't fitted and sanded. I find it curious that an entire motor can be supported by its fuel supply tube.

Water in the background is from the River Severn flooding a flying buddy's driveway, and rising.

cheers

I just realised the first post didn't contain the final two dates in our calendar for this season. I didn't have the dates when I made the post because I didn't know when the indoor nats were scheduled.

Anyway, there are two more dates available, 28th March and 25th April.

Note the AM has the date for March incorrectly as 21st - it is the 28th.
cheers

Aw, nuts, what a palaver.
First off, the next booking is in fact this coming Saturday 21st, not the 28th after all. My (double) bad.

Second, noting the BMFA email today, we still plan to host the meeting, subject to any outside agency forcing cancellation. The club will under-write any £shortfall. However, I urge everyone to consider their personal situation before deciding to attend.

thanks

Angry Angry no relief in Derbyshire I'm afraid. I'm assuming our April date is also postponed. I just hope this doesn't drive the Leisure Centre out of business.
New dates as and when.
Hope to see you outdoors in the summer.

I hope that we can all bounce back from this .... especially those that have suffered the most.
I can hear Vera Lynn singing now .... "We'll fly again" ... or something like that.
