Another one uploading videos is Vladimir Alfery, the son of Antonin.
He probably caught almost all the flights.

George, did you fill in the spreadsheet yourself? If so, then thank you! Must have been quite a task!! Shocked

Incidentally, a couple of the last remaining model blanks in F4D are (I think) Graham Banham's Focke Wulf Ta 152, and Pete Smart's Aeronca Chief.

Hi Peter,
Yes I did, it  was not that bad. I did see all the videos after all, so I had the spreadsheet open in another window.

My biggest problem was not having all the schedule sheets and I was not completely sure of some models...

Well it's much appreciated!
Can you, or anyone, remind me of the top 3 placings in a  few of the classes that I can't quite remember. The official results will no doubt be up fairly soon, but I'm trying to write up my report for Aeromodeller and it would help me to know.
The ones I'm unsure of are Peanut, Pistachio and CO2.

This is such a lush thread! I've gawped at a few of the pics,  and over coming days will be luxuriating over all the pics and videos. There's an extraordinary amount of  high skill and talent gathered here. Thanks to everyone involved.

Stephen.

Beautifully put Stephan.  Yes full of admiration for the skill shown - both in flying and the detailed building.

Yes ... I cast a list of 209 videos to my TV last night and sat and watched. I think I got to 121 before it was declared 'strictly come dancing time'. Inspirational  Smiley

I don’t understand, Russ. Why would anyone in your house rather watch Strictly Come Dancing? If someone’s into beautifully choreographed displays of grace and elegance being judged and scored by a panel of experts, then surely they’d prefer to just keep watching the Nijmegen videos? (Is it maybe because we IIFI contestants didn’t wear enough sequins?)

Come to think of it I am not sure I could watch two hundred odd videos of models performing even to the standard on here at one sitting.  I would fidget and wander off.  I like the dancing in strictly too but we record it so we can avoid the mainly silly audience and the “luvvy” behaviour.  On balance though good videos of toy aeroplanes performing well probably scores most points.  Pete, the prospect of you in sequins is something I simply cannot imagine!

Thanks again, Paul. There’s still just one result I can’t remember though, which is 2nd place in Kit Scale. I know Richard’s huge Aeronca won it and John Bowerman’s DHC Beaver was third. But who was 2nd?
Anyone?

Nope, despite the Taylorcraft’s amazing performance it wasn’t Mike. Must have been someone in this shot of the prize winners...

If I remember well - Vlastimil Šimek with his Aerosport. But, please, ask Roel or Bernard to be sure.

Thanks, Tonda; now you’ve said it I’m sure that’s right. (I won’t bother Bernard and Roel as I don’t want to rush them. I know they’ll publish the full results once they’re checked and ready.)

Pete

Yes you are definitely correct is was Vlastimil Simek with the Aerosport.
We had a drink with Bernard at the hotel on Sunday night and saw the results.

Hi Pete,

Antonin, John and yourself are all absolutely 100% correct; Vlastimil Simek was 2nd in kit-scale with the Aerosport.

Best wishes,

Paul.

Thanks again, all. One more fact check for Aeromodeller...
Birgit Tornkvist’s Wittman racer won the profile scale contest. Am I right In thinking Johan Wallin proxy-flew this for her (as well as Georg Tornkvist’s Ganagobie)? I gather Birgit and Georg are well into their nineties.

Hi Pete,

That is my understanding also; I remember reference being made to the fact at the prize giving ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

I did consume a vast amount of Trappist beer during my stay though so perhaps someone else will also kindly confirm we are both correct!

Best wishes,

Paul
