Hello there, this is my first message and I am happy in being among you. Thanks.

I once started to (virtual) assembly the Piatelli's AP6:

It is not a fancy 3D assemblage, I did it only in order to see how it would look.
I found the airplane so exotic that now I want to make a real one.
It has an unusual choice of materials, like aluminium for the fin / elevator and wing tips, and reed for the fuselage.

I would appreciate some advice on these materials, since (at least here in Brazil)  I did not succeed in finding reed rods. Would bamboo be a good replacement?
My goal is to make it as original as possible, however I am considering a r/c conversion -  I would like to cover it with transparent/translucent material too.

Thanks in advance.
