As the title suggests, the BMFA have just announced the cancellation of the UK space and free flight Nationals at Barkston Heath.

MOD has withdrawn approval to use Barkston, Luffenham and Sculthorpe for the foreseeable future, so that's that until we get the virus under control.

Same with the indoor use of RAF Shawbury Sports Hangar.
Not the BMFA deciding, but Defence Infrastructure Organisation telling all external agencies (us modellers) we can't use the facility.

But you can, according to the FF Tech Committee, still use Salisbury Plain for trimming. Providing you are mega-fit.

It appears that only places down south such as Area 8, Beaulieu and Ashdown Forest are still up and running! I shall have to see who down here is going to use them.

Oxford's Port Meadow is still up and running.

Though the meadow has been flooded recently and at present is still very muddy and soggy but I'm sure it will dry out over the next few weeks and could provide some useful social distancing flying.

Flying is for members only but worth joining Oxford Model Flying Club if you need a site
