I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a ducted fan and a motor to drive it, but can't connect them! The motor is an Electramax Delta 480BB brushed motor. It is intended to mount into the fan shroud with two screws into the front of the motor can. I have one screw which seems to be the correct thread and size: but only the one which is too long! It doesn't seem to be metric.

Does onyone know what is the correct thread, and also where I can order some via the internet preferably in the UK? (locked down   Angry)

As far as I remember all Mabucchi or Johnson 4xx series motors have metric M3 threads for fixing.
A M3 screw should have a outside diameter of 2,8-2,9mm and a pitch of 0,5mm.
If the screw is too long, cut it, worse if the screw is too short  Wink
On these brushed motors you have a lot of backlash between the case and the rotor, so screw length is not so critical. But always better to check rather than spoil the motor.

So now you know, and you have some spare 3mm screws?
