Fellas, I have a request to build a 049 size spitfire from 1997 plans drawn up by 'Dr diesel'.....so a sheetwood fuse is going together fast, and I was given a tube of SIG glue.....Lordy, it's been decades since THAT smell has graced the building board....still, a nice change

This is getting well along, thought I'd show the build some,...being it's mostly sheet, a fast build!

, a Spitfire in half-A no less and a scratch build at that. Back in 1965, I received as a Christmas gift a Cox .049 Spitfire RTF, your building brings back favorable memories. What engine do you plan to propel it with?

George, I think Jonathan will put a diesel on it....03 or 049
I'll have to make a hatchup front, the put a tank in it. Then fuel proof it all....castor oil gets EVERYWHERE as I remember
I still have johnathan s stitts flybaby to finish....then AJs lazy bee...so my 'shop schedule' is a long list!

Update, set aside for a moment...I have a repair to fix on another plane....but this spit is ready to cover and paint then mount the motor/servos
She turned out superlite....I'd say to anyone wanting a lite spit build....this is the one!
I'll keep you posted...finished bird and flight comments....

working on this bird, as now I have mounted the diesel on it. the nose is very tight with a 049 eric special....but do-able. pictures when I can, this is gonna be a light bird, I will use the servo's to get a better balance, even with the sheeted tail feathers!!!
