Looks like there might be enough interest to start another KK Elf cookup?

Thanks Dave!

It's worth taking a trip back through this thread to see the nice models that were built following Andrew Darby's enthusiasm for this model following his French Holiday escapades! A bit of delayed fun for me - but thanks again Andrew!

Come on Russ, Jack and Crabby!

Andrew used to be a regular contributor on here but seems to have disappeared. All his posts are now "ex member."

I only got the ribs cut out for the last cook up - don't think I'll find them for a few months either after moving house.

Moving to a new house does throw a spanner in the works!

Andrew is sorely missed!

I thought I'd have a go at an Elf. Does anyone happen to know if the Peterborough flying aces event has specific rules for the Elf?

It doesn't look like it's on the list at all this year?

The Elf is mentioned for 'rubber ratio' ... it's a great model for that event  Smiley (not exclusively Elf of course)

That's coming on nicely - I like how you have smoothed off the nose into the nose block.

Can anyone tell me what size prop came with the original kit?

My VMC kit has a 6" prop, the original plans however don't state the prop size... it could have been 5" but frankly the 6" looks right and is what everyone who flies one seems to use.

In post #1 of this cookup thread, Andrew mentions an original 5" dia plastic prop...

That's light! Very nice. Extra points for that clean windscreen work.

That looks very well Gary.  Taken on the front hatch of your narrowboat, or the rear?  Smiley Nice solar panels, by the way!! Grin

Cheers,
