I've posted this on several other forums, and Bruce has been gracious to allow me to post it here at Hip Pocket as well....

I've recently posted some thoughts about having a 'Nate Sturman
Cookup" to honor the memory of our friend Nate. He was a prolific
designer and model builder, and his designs are the basis of many of
Dave Diels 1/24 scale kits.

The Cookup will begin on September 1st,2008, and will continue to run
until the end of the year. I believe this date is far enough in
advance to allow anyone planning to participate to gear up by aquiring
plans or kits.

As a reminder, I've included the list of Diels kits that Nate had

"Hi John,
Here are the Diels kits that were in at least some way related to
Nate's designs.

Ki-27 Nate
Ki-43 Oscar
B7A--2 Grace
B5N2 Kate
Ki-44 Tojo
D3A1/2 Val
Ki-84 Frank
Ki-30 Ann

In addition I have copies of about 20 more of his designs in my files
plus copies of his designs for the ones listed above. Those will
eventually be scanned and posted in the files section of the
Yahoo "Diels Builders Club" website. I have an entire file drawer on
stuff Nate sent me over the years.

Dave Diels"

I know it's 'early', but I'd really like this to be a successful CU
and a fitting tribute to our good friend, Nate. I'm going to open a
POLL to get a sense of how many people might be interested in

As always, you comments and suggestions are welcome.

thanks for your interest and participation.

I'll also be discussing with Bruce about running the CU here in conjunction with the FFCU group. However, the 'voting' and POLL however, are currently setup on FFCU.

Any questions, please let me know.
