Found this Hellcat whilst searching for my next model to build, shrunk the plans to build in pistachio scale,
I like this colour scheme, going with the fuselage first, templates cut,

I love taking plans and reducing them to make tiny airplanes! Mine never fly worth a darn, but they are fun to build. Your plane looks awesome so far. Keep the pix coming!

All stringers installed, need to adjust/ release pressure on 1-2 formers, warped a bit.

Missed a couple of photos taken prior to installation of the all the stringers, added now.
Stringers straightened, formers adjusted, wing saddle installed..more on the fuselage later.
Wings are next.

Some progress with the wings...the notches doesn’t line up so i’m take a different approach.
Lay the LE, Spar, TE, then cut the spar notch, test for fit, then cut the front and back of the rib for proper fit. The top spar will be installed later.

I usually don’t pick wood for peanuts/pistachios by weighing them but more by choosing the density by sight. The picture below shows a typical 1/32 sheet with different densities, i use the dark section as spars, LE, main stringers etc., the lighter section is for ribs, secondary stringers, trusses etc. All wood used in this build here are of 1/32nd thickness but lightly sanded. |

Did the cowl differently by filling in the balsa rectangles instead of wrapping around with bond paper/hing balsa sheet.
