It’s time to build something new, and hopefully aerobatic. A pencil, and ruler, and here it is.
Will it fly though?

Fuselage sides, and Formers F2,F3,F4 into the jig for gluing.
Alignment looks good.

It looks interesting. Is it for a 40?
Good luck with it.

Hi, it will have an OS 46 with tuned pipe. Roughly the dimensions of a Q500, but with less drag.
The fuselage outline is basically the excellent Keith Thomas, Pecker delta glider design, modified to a powered model, with a tapered conventional shoulder wing.
Thanks for your interest.

The fin is next. Must look cool, and built up is preferred.
Something like this.

It's coming on well! I like your sturdy jig - nifty.
Will you be using a built up or sheeted foam wing.
have fun.

The jig is my own design which came about after some pondering when the original jig reached the end of its life. I am pleased with the result.
I am still debating the wing design. I have a set of sheeted foam wings I made some years ago, but I have recently cut a set of balsa ribs for this model. I watched full size F18 Hornets take off today and am thinking swept wings might be in order.
More progress on the fuselage tomorrow, and then I will decide on the wing configuration. Sweep back will affect the centre of gravity.
Much to consider.

The tailplane needs a ply brace for mounting, and then hinging the aft control surfaces. Hinging is a pain!

Triangular stock is excellent for bracing, and gives the fuselage a rounded shape. Also gives the bottom sheeting more bonding surface. Thanks Phil Dell for this tip so many years ago.

Bottom sheeting done, and rough sanding to shape.

Using a router table, with cutting disk, to cut the hinge slots for the tail, and elevator.
Scrap wood used to test hinge centre position.
