I built P-51D Mustang - my 35 years old P-51H looks pretty "used" now... Also this new model is made of foam, it is heavier compared to the old one (10g vs. 8g) but the impression is much better in my opinion. The Peanut model is in 1:34 scale, I used art decals from the 1:32 plastic model - to create something like this is beyond my ability ...

The 35 year old one is superb ... the new one is a step up again Smiley
Your Tigercat was the first of your models to leave a big impression on me .... and that was 'just' 17 years ago ...

Thank you all for your kind words. The main difference is in the construction of the wing. The wing on the P-51H was glued from the top and bottom sheets with a balsa spar in the middle. The wing on the P-51D is cut from a single piece of polystyrene and with a leading edge of ground carbon log. It also acts as a spar and protects the leading edge from damage in impacts with obstacles - this was the biggest problem of the P-51H. Ravatherm polystyrene can also create a much smoother surface than the polystyrene I used before. So there is no need to coat it with microfilm such as Spitfire.

Is the fuselage moulded or carved foam?
