I am working on a scaled up Skiptown Cadet with a mount for the Estes Astrocam model rocket mounted video camera.
I wanted to build this plane but it was a poor choice for the camera. It makes the CG too high and is very hard to balance. When it does balance it rocks back and forth. I don't know what I'm doing, but I know that's not good. I had an idea that might happen going in, so the backup plan of making a parasol in in effect. I have a box frame almost done to raise the wing up 4".
I modified the wing to move the spar to the bottom and add a stringer. Went with a D section leading edge.
The wings and tail are covered with Peck silver tissue. I didn't think to pre-shrink the tissue for the wing numbers so it puckered. I'm not doing it over.
I learned a lot of lessons on this one.

Just my 2 pence worth...
Putting more spars on the bottom is not the best idea. It will bend the wing upwards once you tighten the tissue covering. Much better and stable is to put a second spar on top, just back from the bottom spar. Actually you could just add one to the existing structure, if I guess right from the picture posted.

Thank you. I'm not brave, I just don't know any better!
The silver was easier than I thought. I messed up with the tissue numbers. No shrinkage at all. I tested a piece with water and there was no difference.

Nutty Professor, Silver Tissue, Nutty Professor, perked up my ears. Crabby,
I don't know if I'm a professor, but I'm surely Nutty like a squirrel.
This Squirrel wrestled with Silver tissue and came out the loser. What I ended up doing was covering my SkipTown Cadet with white Japanese Tissue & very lightly sprayed it with Design Masters Floral Spray---Silver. I was so impressed with the results. I leapt with joy.
There is one sticky problem, there seems to be a supply line congestion with Design Masters Floral Spray, it is no longer available at Michael's arts and crafts or for that matter anywhere on the web. I hope it's not discontinued. I absolutely love this product for model's Bob

The problem I find with ANY silver tissue or spray is that I have magnificent results, then I think I'm brilliant, only to move to the dunces' corner on the very next try. But I do love this $#!T. Bob that finish looks like rattan (?) chair weave. Its a really cool effect or is it just the way the picture came out?
