Thanks Pitman, I am using the low E string which is about 1.5mm thick. I tested it and it was good. The glider flew perfect first go too!

I am cheap... If I could find a substitute for .8 grams of noseweight I would recycle that as well!

OK Fella's I have added all the noseweights and put on all the hooks, as tomorrow is the day of reckoning. Unfortunately it is raining cats and dogs here and there will be little chance for flying any of them. The fair had to cancel the rides and camel races so because of the rain. I am selling them for $1 and also having a flyer handy for anyone who may want to find out more about free flight. Here are some pics of the gliders as of today 9/10/10

My wife has decided that they be called SKY SWOOPERS!! My son and wife are on painting detail. I painted the yellow gliders!! So artistic.

All done. Saw feet and tired bones. Lots of rainy weather and soggy models. Not sure how many I sold but I still have heaps left. Oh well, I know what the Nephew's are going to be getting for xmas and birthday's for the next 30 years.

I missed the start of this but WELL DONE if only one sparks an interest in the hobby it will be well worth it.
Years ago I made kits and help put together 35 rubber stick models for my daughters school, But 250 WOOOOOOOW.
One of the kids in that class is now an RAAF pilot, I like to kid myself I had something to do with it!

Good onya

I believe I may have sold more if I could have shown how they fly. But the weather was awful. Next year I might make a few delta darts and sell those as well. Maybe with the school emblem on it?

It does help if you can show how a model does. A simple way is a video, either with a portable dvd player or having your vidcam with you to play back your tapes/chips, what I did this past weekend at the flea-market - cleared out the rest of my Viggen catajets.

You've STILL got me beat in quantity of a single type Tongue Grin. Gotta work on that.

Them's a lot of tiny parts, Matthew! But the clothes basket has me wondering: How well did they stand up throughout the wash cycles? Grin

I set the machine to "spin up" cycle and they seemed to glide for ever Smiley
