My favourite sport model is the Peacemaker, mine however has a modern wing construction.

Hi greggles47,
I am continually amazed at how this design has stood the test of time. It seems to show up in many different versions. I wonder if George Aldrich the designer ever expected this airplane design to outlast almost any other design on the planet, it certainly has stood the test of time. It's a fun airplane and many seem to keep flying it. Thanks for the image of your airplane in this control line section.

Hi Greg
I had thought of building a Peacemaker with a similar wing style myself. A lot of the guys down in Tassy have peacemakers, great models. Is your rib section similar to the original section only longer where the flaps were?
What engine are you running in yours.

G'day Owen,

Sorry for the delay replying. The wing section is about 1 1/4" high at about 30% of the root chord. High point is constant from the LE. It's about 1" at the tips.

LE is a 7/8" preformed Balsa unit backed by  1/8X1/2" Spruce TE is 1/4 (could be 3/16) Carbon tube.

After a bit of a search I found the drawing from which I drew up the Peacemaker wing.

The one attached is for a 1/2A combat wing, but by stretching the rear section it can be made to fit a Peacemaker wing slot.

Hi Greg
The section I have drawn up is the original peacemaker section with the rear stretched out. The only drawback I thought would be maybe the covering would sag a little on the leading edge up to the thickest part of the section.
I was thinking of cutting a foam leading edge with a spruce spar in the tip with an 1/8 back on the foam leading edge and build off from there much like a modern combat wing.

No problem with sagging if you use laminating film. I did with no worries at all.

As the pic above shows wrinkle free finish.

Just finished my Widow Maker
I used Hobbie King film to cover it. It came out good. weighs 17 oz all up ready to fly. Powered by an OS15 Fp

My latest on the bench, it's more like a real Peacemaker.

I've used the standard wing construction I've been using since about 1964. The section is one I've been playing with for a while. Wing span is now out to 44" It'll get the usual PM style fixed flaps.

Maiden flight yesterday, in perfect Autumn skies.
Plane isn't perfect - u/c too short for take offs - now fixed. Tank only banded on gave erratic runs Also now fixed.

Flew great - smooth & predictable. OS 15LA gives enough power to throttle it back and really go slow.
