prop balancing?

Hi all; I have a Peck prop that I can't balance. Usually I can get them pretty well balanced when one blade seems a tad heavier than the other with a little sandpaper or a knife and a scrape, but this one is odd. When spun on a shaft it always stops perfectly horizontal but with the same side down, and will return to this position when moved. So I'm just not sure where to scrape, where the heavy bit is! Any thoughts?

Doug,
Apart from asymmetric density of the plastic each side of the horizontal centreline, it's probably the blades are not 180 degrees in opposition. Try straightening it with heat.

OOOH! That's it! Such a slight variance, not sure if I'll ever get it right, but if not, not a big deal, I should be carving one anyway. Thanks Ramon.

Hi guys ... just like to point out that blades which are not 180 opposed is an oft-encountered problem with plastic props. On occasion, the hole isn't properly centred or aligned -- everything bears checking.
