Hurricane Prototype K5083 from VMC Hurricane Kit (Revised 01-01-18)
Description: Part profiles and build notes for making a version of the Hawker Monoplane Interceptor prototype K5083 from the VMC Hurricane Kit.

Contents .

- Build notes as PDF.
- A4 Sheet of acetate profiles. (SVG - Inkscape 0.48, PNG & PDF)
- A4 Sheet of scheme markings. (SVG, PNG & PDF)
- A4 Sheet of part profiles. (PNG and PDF only)

Note well.
The modified plans are *for individual use only* and original part profiles are replicated with the kind permission of A. J. Darby. If you would like working drawings of the new part profiles that I worked up please contact me.

Images for a passable cockpit tub and MK I instrument panel are also available in the Indoor Scale section of the plan gallery. It is suggested that the MK I instrument panel is reserved for an electric or CO2 build because of the motor line in a rubber powered build.

PDF updated to remove incorrectly rendered guide / construction lines.

Spinner. Additional note.

If you have a go at a "conical" spinner using the plastic disc approach that I used there's a good chance it will work OK if you can get it more symmetrical than I did. It was about 0.5mm out on the inside giving a "catch" that mucked up the freewheel and which didn't show up until the flight trials at relatively high turn counts.

Using a thinner grade of plastic card would help as would more aggressive filing down of the inside of the cone along the line of the seam.
