The Bean Machine
Description: Don Lindley's plan for a Bostonian that any beginner can build. Don was the mentor for a loose confederation of indoor FF modelers in Chicago's western suburbs. I wanted to honor the late Don Lindley with this CAD rendering of his plan. Steve Moskal, September 2018

Wing rib question

I suspect wing ribs are supposed to be 1/16" tall, cut from 1/32" sheet. Dimensions seem to be "reversed" in the boxed note on the plan.

Thanks..

Thanks for the re-render on this to Steve Moskal.. My dad designed this airplane after I left for college and I never got to build one as a kid.. after getting back involved with indoor I find that same group of guys he designed it for STILL flying their Bean Machines in a local gym.. 30+ years later!! so.. I built one to play with. I can honestly say this thing is the easiest build for a built up fuselage I have ever experienced.. and it flew perfectly right off the board.. Still a good choice for a novice builder!

Corrections to the drawing

IndoorFlyer has made a correct observation. I have made changes to that callout and to the line widths which occured after I revisited my drawings.
dlh1965 it was nice to read your kind words. This was a labor of love; a work done out of admiration and respect for your dad. I always think of him with every model I complete.
