Lovely plan...again!

Like waiting for a bus then 3 turn up!

Never thought I would see 3 superb Sterling plans turn up in 24 hours....thank you skyraider for this 'Tiggie' and the 'Cherokee'......last remaining one for the 'E' series has to be the Ford Tri-Motor then surely all the plans will be on this site.

Thank you.

Built the Tiggie in '85

The scale integrity of this model is spot on. It was for my father, a CWTP Pilot. Model is unchanged in 27 years. I wouldn't hesitate to recreate the cowl nose bowl by carving it if I wanted to build another. Just the right size model to be a proper piece for static. I bet it would fly well but never tried.

Built in 2020-21 for rc

I built this from the kit (old kit!) using the kit wood and everything with just a few minor mods for electric rc on rudder/elevator. Covered in lightweight film (lightspan?) Just uses a 800 mah 2s battery and a outrunner of about .020'ish power - and it flies great!!. I have the optional large canopy on mine and that did not effect control or stability (some might worry). The strong/heavier balsa in the kit made it ideal for rc conversion. The old decals soon became cracked and cured, so I am delighted to the decal sets downloadable here. Many thanks!

PS. I found the plastic kit cowl to be fine, i would use thin plywood if building from plan, plus a bit of balsa block. The top of the fus ahead of the cabane struts I made into a hatch for the battery etc. the servoes I put where the rear cockpit is for accessability. One mod I did and recommend was to use hardwood/spruce for the struts (coffee stirers!)
