Early model

This is the predecessor to the better known RC-3 Seabee. This variant is the RC-1, which was initially known as the Thunderbolt; it was significantly more complicated and expensive to build than the RC-3. The RC-1 had a tapered, cantilever wing, whereas the RC-3 was equipped with a constant chord, strut braced wing. There is good online documention for the RC-1, recognize that it was, early on, referred to as the Thunderbolt!
