Close to what I was seeking
I have made many attempts at building a special model of the Phantom II, a modified RF- 4b with wonderful little canards ... a test bed plane which use to sit at WPAFB, but was moved the day before I showed up to photograph it ... just my luck.
To date the little plane with a tiny 30mm fan flew the farthest but given the added lift and what might be amazing flight characteristics it should be built. Of course I thought so the first time I saw it almost 40 years ago.
