A Beginning point...

First stickntissue I ever built...many years ago...cost 29 cents. It was a real challenge for a very young boy...had no idea how to cover it...but what the hey, I was excited by just the frames! The experience was worth a million bucks.

My first Flying kit too

Just like you, Kerak, this D-7 was my first kit when I was 13 in 1974. I got it at Newberry's in Torrance. After building a slew of plastic models, I remember opening up the kit to find a bunch of fuzzy, petrified balsa. It had a plastic prop no bigger than 3", and the motor run was about 3 seconds! As an official old fool, I'm going to ty to build it again, and use lighter wood. Like, 1/16 inch sheet oak.
