It can be done.
I have all the patterns for every part including wire on one sheet that could be printed in addition to this for accurate and complete patterns. They came from removing and faithfully tracing in precise detail every last part that a builder would then pattern and fab.
fiberglassspecialtiesinc.com has cowls with the engine detail 9cyl radial molded in.
Believe me, this is how to end up with a model superior to one that could be built from the die crushed mess of luan and crappy balsa the original kit had. Design is wonderful. If a guy used the parts provided as templates for cutting real wood the building experience and flying model is a dream.
